Do you still have leftover turkey in your freezer from Thanksgiving? Perhaps you’re preparing for a turkey dinner for Christmas and are in need of some leftover turkey recipes in Williamsport, PA to prepare ahead of time to use up everything that doesn’t get eaten at Christmas dinner.

Whatever the case may be, you have plenty of options for creating delicious meals with your leftover turkey. In fact, for some people, these “leftover” meals are actually the highlight of cooking the turkey in the first place! Here are just a few examples of some meals you can make with your leftover turkey, and some quick instructions for making them:

  • Turkey salads: You can easily shred up some turkey and place it into various types of salads, which make for great meals to take to work. You might, for example, create a buffalo chicken salad but substitute the turkey for the chicken. You could also create an Asian-inspired salad dish. Add some turkey to a sesame peanut noodle salad and recreate your favorite takeout flavors with the turkey you have left over from your holiday meal.
  • Turkey sandwiches: This is perhaps the simplest meal you can make with your leftover turkey. Meat from the turkey breast is good for sandwiches—slice it thinly if you can, and put it into a sandwich with whatever additional fixings you like. You can just go with items you’re likely to already have around the house. One great-tasting option is to use leftover cranberry sauce and brie and wrap them up in tortillas. The flavors of the cheese, cranberries and turkey complement each other perfectly, and the wrap is a lower-carb option than a full bread sandwich.
  • Turkey soup: Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated “leftovers” meal after you’ve had a turkey is the turkey soup. You’re going to be left with a turkey carcass after you’ve eaten most of the meat. That carcass is still good to use—don’t throw it in the trash just yet! Put the carcass in a stock pot with broth and water, bring it to a boil and let it simmer for quite some time. After removing the carcass, take off any remaining meat and dice it up, putting it back into the stock with rice, onions, carrots, celery, poultry seasoning and a bay leaf. You might add in some peppercorns as well for additional flavor. This extremely simple turkey soup will always be highly satisfying.
  • Pot pie: You can easily create pot pies in a pie pan or skillet using a lot of your Thanksgiving or Christmas leftovers. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes and vegetables can all be placed into the pie crust with other ingredients, including egg, cream cheese, other types of cheese, mustard and/or sour cream. Pot pies are simple and delicious, and highly recommended for turkey leftovers!
