Great Recipes for Juicy Summer Hamburgers with Fresh Ground Grass-Fed Beef

Grass-fed burgers always have an extra bit of satisfaction to them—you can trust in the quality of the meet and the practices used in farming it, and you’re almost always supporting smaller farmers. You also know the meat has come from a healthy cow fed naturally with grass. The meat itself usually tastes great, as well!

There are few things that hit the spot in the summer like a delicious, juicy burger at a barbecue. If you’re tired of doing the same old thing with your burgers, we’ve got a couple ideas to help you make the most delicious, fresh grass-fed beef burgers possible. Here are some tips from a butcher shop in Williamsport, PA.

Option one

For this burger, collect a pound and a half of grass-fed beef, all-natural Worcestershire sauce (one that isn’t made out of high-fructose corn syrup) and your favorite brand of seasoning salt. That’s all you need!

Form your burgers into patties of your desired size, then add seasoning salt to each side of the burger. Feel free to be liberal in your usage of seasoning. Once you’ve completed this, add sauce to each side of the burger as well. Again, no need to hold back with the amount of sauce you use.

Start up your grill, getting it to a medium level of heat. Carefully grease the grates with coconut oil to prevent the patties from sticking. After you place the burgers on the grill, wait about five minutes before flipping to the other side. Be sure to keep an eye on the patties, though—depending on how hot you’ve made your grill, you might need to adjust your timing.

After you’ve flipped, cook for another three minutes (or until near-done) on the other side. Avoid overcooking your burgers—grass-fed beef is high quality meat, so you should not aim for a well-done burger here.

After three minutes, add your cheese of choice and allow it to melt, then remove and serve on your favorite bun with toppings of choice. When we provide food catering in Williamsport, PA, we find our customers love sautéed onions, cheese and bacon!

Option two

For our second choice of delicious burger, begin by caramelizing some onions in a small skillet, then set them aside. Combine those onions with garlic powder, a couple tablespoons of mayonnaise, pepper and ground beef in a bowl until they’re well mixed, then shape the mixture into however many patties you desire.

Heat up your grill, grill pan or skillet, making sure you’ve coated it with cooking oil ahead of time, and then cook the patties several minutes on each side. Top with a slice of cheese and allow it to melt before removing, then serve with your toppings of choice.

The mixture of ingredients into the patties in this recipe is delicious and something you’ve likely not tried before!
